First, a little word about where I've been. I have not abandoned my blog! Things have been super crazy over here in Real Life for me and my blog just kind of fell by the wayside. I needed to give my attention to my family, especially my Mom who has been really sick. When this posts, I will be at a New Year's Retreat with God only knows how many Jr. and Sr. High kids. I'm really looking forward to recharging my batteries and starting 2012 off strong! Thanks for sticking with me!
Now, on to this week's question:
First & Last: What was the first book you read in 2011 and the last
you finished in 2011? How do you feel about these books? Would you
recommend them to other readers?
The first book I read in 2011 was My Soul to Lose by Rachel Vincent. It's the prequel novella to the Soul Screamers series, and I instantly fell in love. If you love paranormal urban fantasy, with sizzling romance and teenage angst, I would HIGHLY recommend this book/series. Rachel Vincent is awesome at all of the above and then some.
At this point, I'm not sure what the last book I'll read in 2011 will be! I'm writing this Tuesday night because I'm leaving straight from work Wednesday to go to my church's campgrounds for the New Year's Retreat and I'll be there until Sunday afternoon. My last book of the year is either going to be Cinder by Marissa Meyer, or The Hobbit by J. R. R. Tolkien. It really depends on how much reading I get done at the retreat. Which will probably be none.
My prediction for the last book of 2011 is Cinder. I really loved this book and would highly recommend it to anyone! It has that awesome futuristic, almost dystopian feel, mixed with a fairy tale story. I seriously can't wait for the next books in the series. You should all get this one when it comes out on Tuesday! Since I had to send the ARC to the next person for the DAC ARC blog tour, I'll be getting my own copy then, too!

I haven't read the first book but I can't wait to read Cinder!
